Boro Chess Whiz Off To Argentina
Brooklyn's chess whiz, 17-year old Bobby Fischer of 560 Lincoln Pl., is off this morning for Mar del Plata, Argentine, to represent the U. S. in the international chess competition being held there.
Sen. Javits of New York has indicated his interest in the young Brooklynite's phenomenal popularity abroad, both in an out of chess circles, and has stated that he would ask the U.S. Government to underwrite the chess champ with special appropriation so the borough youth can accept some of the invitations which have been extended to him by foreign governments.
