Bobby to Reds: Your Move
Tentative plans for an international chess match next fall between U. S. champion Bobby Fischer of Brooklyn and Russian chess players have been outlined by the People to People Sports Committee, headed by Col. Edward Egan.
The group, of which the Rev. Frank Peer Beal is recreation chairman, has invited Russian players and hopes to have an answer when it meets March 10 at the Advertising Club in Manhattan.
Meanwhile, efforts are being made to obtain a Congressional appropriation to meet the expenses of the proposed tournament in which the youthful Erasmus Hall High School pupil would tangle with the top flight Russian chess masters.
